Back in the 80's Pizza Hut was awesome.  You would go to a dine-in location and order a Personal Pan Pizza and maybe some breadsticks.  For a while, the kids meal came with a Land Before Time dinosaur hand puppet!  And the pizza was the best!  They would bring it to your table in the little black iron pan, and it would be the perfect combination of gooey cheese and chewy crust, with that crispy, "fried" texture on the bottom.  Now compare that to the sad little cardboard frisbees they sell at the Pizza Hut to go locations at Target or the airport.  Gross.  That's why I was so happy to run across a recipe that tastes exactly like I remember Pizza Hut from my childhood. The best part is that it is surprisingly easy and you don't need any fancy equipment or weird ingredients.  If you have a bowl, an oven, and a cast iron skillet, you have everything you need to turn out amazing pizza.  There are recipes included for a few different sauces, too.  If you don't want to bother making your own sauce, this will work just fine with store bought sauces.  As for toppings, put on anything you want!  I made a regular sausage pizza with red sauce, a bacon and sausage Alfredo pizza, and a cinnamon streusel dessert pizza.  The full recipe is here, and make sure to check out the slideshow, too. Sorry, Pizza Hut, you just lost a customer!

OMG...I had like 10 of those hand puppets! Did your school do the Book-It program where you read five books and you got a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut? My third grade I read A LOT of books. :D

Seriously, those puppets were super cool, and I'm for sure making this pizza sometimes soon.
